OMAR AS TERRY: Michael K. Williams. Fucking awesome. Terry’s Diary is up for the new JJJJound. Nazi Gold is the poor man’s version. Update: Man, rereading the copy on this post made me feel like a huge asshole. Sorry, not feeling it today.

TOO LATE: The extremely cheap availability of quality film production gear leads to a lot of good and consequentially, a lot of bad. Case in point. Can’t knock them for not putting the work in. Am I missing the point? Is this in fact awesome? Not sure anymore.

STREET THIEF: This fake documentary revolves around a fictitious professional thief named Kaspar Carr. The film has its problems but I really enjoyed it. Learned a few things too (two shirts and two pairs of boxers buddy). Available on Netflix Instant Watch, read more here and here.

HELLOME: Berlin based HelloMe has a solid portfolio, top to bottom. This link is about 3 weeks old and has been seen everywhere already.

SKETCHBOOK TUESDAY: The horribly underrated Lee Harvey Roswell will be one of the featured artists at Sketchbook Tuesday tonight at Minna. You should go.

BLOOM ENERGY: To me, the legitimacy of the 60 Minutes report on Bloom Energy’s Bloom Boxes is not the important thing. I like to focus on the web threads created as a result of reading (watching) a piece such as the aformentioned. via TechCrunch. Note this article from 2007, and the peripheral relationships to this and this.

THE FUCKING WEEK: Hi, I was in the East Bay this week, surrounded by sales guys, at a 3-day certification course on Systimax’s iPatch 360 System - exhilarating. I lit my landlord’s clothes dryer on fire (story for the bar). I finally bought a plane ticket to AZ for spring training (something I have wanted to do for well over 10 years). My cousin who might as well be my brother turned twenty-nine. One of my best friends asked his lady to marry him (fuck yeah Tom) while my lady decided not to get rid of me even though I wouldn’t have blamed her if she did. Still broke, still tired, still smoke, still don’t surf, and still don’t have one legitimate reason to complain. Beer time homie.

SHOHEI OTOMO: The site is not in English and the portfolio setup is kind of eh but there is a lot of great illustration to look at. Also from Eclectic Cow.

MARGARET DUROT: I like these photos. I think any of the ones in the last two sets would look dope super big. Margaret was born in Wisconsin. via the very well curated Eclectic Cow. Think I’m stealing two from over there today.

2010 BIG EAT LIST: I purchased the newest 7x7 just for the awesome cover pic (partially shown above) of a fried chicken and waffles plate from Little Skillet on Ritch Street. The mag has a 100 things you need to eat in SF before you die dealie. This sandwich from Ike’s looks amazing as well.

MATT MILLER ON EXPEDITION: I have watched this short vid introducing Matt Miller on Expedition Skateboards about a hundred times. I don’t know, I just like everything about it. via Thrasher.

FOR ALL MANKIND: You can currently watch the Al Reinert classic, For All Mankind, on the Netflix Instaview. I think I could watch doc films on the inner-workings of mission control for weeks on end. [Insert diatribe about perspective, working on projects that are actually worth a damn, the state of America, the iPad, and the definition of real achievement here.]

FOUND FUNCTIONS: New York photographer, Nikki Graziano, takes pictures of natural settings and finds functions within the compositional elements. Very nice set. via Wired.

OF HOOPTYS AND HOVERCRAFTS: El-P posted on the Def Jux website today that he is shutting it down as a traditional record label. So much good came out of those guys over the past 10 years.

SUCKS: The Market Street Pearl is where I go to get art supplies. The employees are dicks and the products are not always the cheapest, but there is always parking in the Tenderloin around the time I get off work. It’s shitty that they are shutting down.
