VANS CLASSICS CHAMBRAY PACK: I like these blue chambray Vans but I’d have to go with the black ones because it’s baseball season muthafucka. Cold beer and Giants/Padres Dbacks in two days.

GUERRERO GALLERY: Super successful and super nice guy Andres Guerrero is opening his new space on Saturday. It is on 19th near York. via Fecal Face.

HOCKEY: That hockey game yesterday was fucking amazing. When Parise scored that goal I was going bananas. It was also awesome when the Sabres coach was talking to Ryan Miller after the game was over.

THE DODOS: Last Thursday Snips and I saw The Dodos play with the Magik Magik Orchestra at the Palace of Fine Arts. It was very good. Video proof.

READ MONO: Sworn enemy Anthony Bacigalupo (pictured above) got himself a few new websites. He also made this nice vid piece set to the tunes of the XX.

WILFREDO GOMEZ: Pretty interesting idea. Patrick O’Dell put together a short doc film based upon a made up legendary skateboarder for HBO’s How to Make it in America series. On his blog, O’Dell says however, that all of the stories in the short were true stories from a bunch of different skaters (Penny, Sheffey, etc., etc.). I am all about these types of things now a days apparently.

TEMPORAL SURFACES: By the looks of the preview, the Kevin Cyr / Jessica Hess show at White Walls (opening March 6th) is going to be super duper.

LEO TAGE’S BLOGGER TOOLBAR: This Blogger page has some nice photos by Leo Tage. The hover over toolbar at the top of the page is great too. Is this a new interface option? Either way, very nice.

GAUTIER DEBLONDE: Photographer Gautier Deblonde has a solid portfolio highlighted by an amazing series of sculptor Ron Mueck in his London studio. via Changethethought.

SURFING AT 1000 FRAMES/SEC: Filmmaker Curt Morgan took Dane Reynolds, Julian Wilson, and Kelly Slater to Mexico and shot them with a camera used normally for high speed collision analysis. Super Slow Mo.

GARDEN STATE: The Bold Italic’s Garrett Kamps (I swear I know this guy from somewhere) has a nice article on a Flora Grub assisted deck project. This was VA&O’s 250th post. Thanks for reading.

OMAR AS TERRY: Michael K. Williams. Fucking awesome. Terry’s Diary is up for the new JJJJound. Nazi Gold is the poor man’s version. Update: Man, rereading the copy on this post made me feel like a huge asshole. Sorry, not feeling it today.

TOO LATE: The extremely cheap availability of quality film production gear leads to a lot of good and consequentially, a lot of bad. Case in point. Can’t knock them for not putting the work in. Am I missing the point? Is this in fact awesome? Not sure anymore.

STREET THIEF: This fake documentary revolves around a fictitious professional thief named Kaspar Carr. The film has its problems but I really enjoyed it. Learned a few things too (two shirts and two pairs of boxers buddy). Available on Netflix Instant Watch, read more here and here.

HELLOME: Berlin based HelloMe has a solid portfolio, top to bottom. This link is about 3 weeks old and has been seen everywhere already.
